Membership Overview

The National Navigation Roundtable is a national coalition of public, private and voluntary organizations, and invited individuals dedicated to advancing the field of patient navigation through:

  • coordinated leadership
  • strategic planning
  • advocacy

It takes many voices to create an effective coalition – a coalition and unified voice committed to demonstrating the impact and value of patient navigation in cancer care.

How the NNRT Functions

The NNRT acts as a catalyst to stimulate work on key issues around patient navigation. The work of the NNRT is guided by an active Steering Committee, with leadership of a Chair and Vice Chair. Through the efforts of task groups, the NNRT advances initiatives that focus on:

  • evidence
  • training
  • policy

A fundamental premise of the NNRT is that collective action among member organizations will be more successful in advancing the field, than if they worked alone.  A core principle of the NNRT is that it will not duplicate or take on roles of member organizations; but rather fulfill those roles that would otherwise go undone.  The NNRT seeks to enhance organization contributions in navigation through greater engagement with other stakeholders, as well as take on initiatives that all organizations deem worthy, but unlikely to initiate on their own.

Together, members work to share information, identify needs and opportunities, while addressing gaps relating to navigation.  The strength of such a partnership, united in mission, enhances the work of each member and thus effectively furthering the field and profession.
